Scrum Coach

Remote (ALL US) IT Modernization - IT Modernization Full Time

The Scrum Coach is responsible for managing and driving the scrum process for one or more agile development teams and the day to day team reporting. This role works with peer level technical leadership teams, product owners, engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure software development efforts are in-line with overall business goals. The Scrum Coach will be required to organize and drive all scrum events to ensure the development team is able to perform at optimal velocity and facilitate continuous improvements. 

Responsibilities

  • (90%) Scrum Management 
  • Lead the scrum team in using Agile methodology and scrum practices 
  • Help the product owner and development team to achieve optimal performance 
  • Lead the scrum and development teams in self-organization 
  • Remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediments 
  • Help the scrum and development teams to identify and fill in blanks in the Agile framework 
  • Resolve conflicts and issues that occur 
  • Help the scrum team achieve higher levels of scrum maturity 
  • Support the product owner and provide education where needed 
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) across the organization for Scrum, Kanban and Lean methodologies 
  • Define and support Agile estimation methods, Release Planning and other scaling activities and events 
  • Define and monitor metrics/scorecards to measure Agile maturity and helps develop and execute plans to improve maturity 
  • Confirm proper business readiness activities are conducted to ensure business units are prepared for product and service changes 
  • Conduct necessary testing required to further refine program vision 
  • Foster an environment of mutual respect and cooperation, transparency, autonomy, agility, learning, innovation, quality and speed of execution

  • Define and implement project level financial reporting and dashboards to help track project level summary and status 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including cross-functional touchpoints to align and prioritize initiatives within program roadmap establishing integrated program view 
  • Assist with design, development and planning strategic program roadmaps that are rooted in a deep understanding of stakeholder’s businesses goals, including driving product enhancements to data analyses. 
  • Assist with estimation, planning, organizing and monitoring the activities of cross-functional teams 
  • Assist in identification, assessment and communication of project risks 
  • Assist in vendor performance and relationship management  
  • Identify escalations on assigned projects between business and IT 
  • Consult with stakeholders on best practices in customer experience management 
  • Remain flexible to changing priorities, open to new ideas and have the customer experience firmly as the focus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain IT concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT organization.

  • Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the scrum process 
  • Ability to determine what is scrum and what is not 
  • Experience with successful Agile techniques 
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment 
  • Self-motivation and ability to stay focused amid distraction 
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt quickly 
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging processes and technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive business to be agile and transparent. 
  • Hands on experience in Scrum & Kanban as well as Agile scaling methodologies - such as LeSS, SaS and SAFe 
  • Strong facilitation, communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, leadership and negotiation skills 
  • Commitment to continuous learning, highly efficient in coaching Scrum Masters, team members and Product Owners 
  • Coaching experience in a complex, large agile environment 
  • Agile transformation or other organizational change experience 
  • Knowledgeable in DevOps practices 
  • Business Process Improvement 
  • Expertise in Digital Transformations 
  • KPI and SLA development and management 
  • Required Skills

  • Risk and Issue Management 
  • Deep understanding of Agile values, principles, and practices (Scrum and Kanban) 
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps
