Valorem Reply is seeking an individual with strong data analytics testing skills and a desire to work in the testing industry for the position of Quality Analyst. The Quality Assurance Analyst with ETL/ELT & BI Report testing skills is responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and quality of the technical solutions to support reporting, data mining and analytics. You will be expected to contribute to all aspects of data testing. Your technical knowledge and exposure need to be sufficient to understand the principles of BI design and you need be proficient enough in SQL to drill-down data on Azure platforms. You will be responsible for the planning and creation of test scenarios, the automation feasibility analysis and the raising of defects within the Azure DevOps in agile delivery model.

Responsibilities

Perform Static Test reviews of the Business Requirements/ User Stories/technical documentation and develop test conditions and build test scripts with traceability

Perform Test Case design, identify opportunity for Test Automation

Proactively work with product representatives, architects, business analysts and developers during analysis and development to ensure a quality, testable deliverable

Maintaining/updating regression test suite for upcoming releases

Execute tests and ensure test results are recorded in appropriate manner

Design, develop and maintain data quality assurance framework

Write SQL scripts to validate data surfacing in BI assets against the data sources

Identify, triage, troubleshoot, and report system faults and defects to development team

Make defect prioritization decisions based upon both technical merit and business value

Create partnerships with architects, developers, and business analysts in supporting defects analysis, reproduction, and resolution

Ensure that standardized testing processes are in place and followed

Assist with code promotion to staging, UAT, production environments including the post-deployment test execution

Provide inputs on Test Metrics to Test Lead. Support in Analysis of Metric trends and implementing improvement actions, as necessary

Actively take part in providing Analytics and Advanced Analytics Testing trainings in the company

Participate in research, selection, and implementation of new tools

Requirements

Around 4-6 years of ETL/Data warehouse/analytics testing experience

Able to create Test Strategy & Test Plan for Testing BI & DWH applications/ solutions that are moderate to complex / high risk Systems

Very good understanding of business intelligence concepts, architecture & building blocks in areas of ETL/ELT processing, Data warehouse, dashboards and analytics

Experience/knowledge in Data Transformation Projects, database design concepts & white-box testing

Experience with working from Tabular data from SQL Server, semi structured data, & ingestion from API sources

Good working experience with SQL server and capability to frame, execute and debug complex SQL queries

Proficient knowledge of RDBMS concepts

Write SQL scripts to validate data in the data repositories against the data in the source systems to perform E2E ETL/ELT testing to verify data migration, conversion, and quality

Sound Experience of Backend testing using Microsoft Azure platform (Data Lake, Data Factory, and Data Bricks)

PowerShell scripting and ETL/ELT Automaton experience is preferred

Experience with Test Management and Defect Management tools preferably Azure DevOps

Real passion for data quality, reconciliation and uncovering hard to find scenarios and bugs

Experience with UI and API performance testing and monitoring tools

Experience in SQL query debugging for the Performance parameters

Experience to conduct Security testing to make sure that the data APIs are secure against vulnerability attacks

Experience in cloud-based web app - UI and API functional, integration and end to end testing

Analytics mind-set skills with the ability to turn a business question/problem into a delivery plan

Detail oriented with the ability to learn quickly

Ability to think critically and analyze problems

Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to work on multiple tasks concurrently
