Kansas City, Missouri UX Studio - User Experience Contract

The UX Designer II leverages their user-centric design skills to frame problems and provide innovative interaction design solutions that meet user and business needs across a mobile application, web, and wearables touch points. The UX Designer II will be responsible for the design execution for a portion of a user journey within the app. You will work closely with other Senior UX peers to ensure a seamless user experience across domains. This designer will be spearheading innovative mobile application designs, guiding all aspects for the design process for their assigned segment.  The designer will also leverage a UX researcher to identify new and unmet needs, validate usability before and after launch,and iterate throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Set overall design, research, and execution strategy fora connected multi-channel experience.
  • Create Personas to understand customer’s needs and unmet desires.
  • Conduct competitive and comparative analyses in the initial design phase.  
  • Craft an experience utilizing various techniques like storyboards to inform and communicate design strategy and overall experience.
  • Proven ability to go from Blue sky innovation to rapid design execution encompassing continuous feedback loops. 
  • Partner with UX research, copy, and oversee one IXD & UI pair. 
  • Prototype to learn and ensure users and business needs are meet throughout your process.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams throughout the process.
  • Work closely with UX Practice lead to ensure alignment of the vision aligns to brand strategy and customer needs.

  • Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including designing mobile applications in iOS and Android.
  • Experience launching a mobile application to market, including design leadership from concept to completion. 
  • Advanced proficiency with Sketch, InVision, Adobe Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
  • Experience incorporating live data and historical data into a high engaging user experience
  • Experience incorporating Gestalt principles into user experience design
  • Experience leading and mentoring designers.
  • Prior experience in a product development organization, including experience interfacing with product managers and owners.
  • Prior automotive or gaming industry experience preferred. 
  • Experience working with telematics and automotive data sets
  • Applicants must present a design portfolio that demonstrates their work and expertise.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design or Related Field
