Cosmos Opoku : My name is Cosmos Opoku, and I am a Solutions Consultant at Valorem Reply. My vision is intelligent cloud defense for 2025.

Intelligent cloud defense is the trend of monitoring cloud workloads like applications, networks, and virtual machines in both on-premises and cloud environments.

Microsoft Defender for Cloud is a cloud-native application protection platform that focuses on three categories: DevOps, CSPM (Cloud Security Posture Management), and CWP (Cloud Workload Protection).

There are many products out there, creating a lot of competition. However, cloud defense, or intelligent cloud defense, is a new trend where DevSecOps (development, security, and operations) work together based on recommendations from cloud security posture management systems. As more organizations move to the cloud, all workloads are being migrated, and developers are creating new applications there. Protecting these workloads through real-time monitoring and preventing misconfigurations before they reach production is crucial. We need to help our clients do this in 2025 by identifying misconfigurations using Defender for Cloud. This will also protect their hybrid, on-premises, cloud applications, and multi-cloud environments, allowing us to perform complete security assessments and resolve gaps before any breaches occur.

Valorem Reply is doing a lot of work in this area. We are developing a Defender for Cloud team, made up of highly motivated security consultants. We are working with our clients to help them assess workloads and perform comprehensive security assessments for clients. We meet our clients where they are and recommend new trends. Our goal is to conduct security assessments, provide reports on cloud security posture management, and resolve any recommendations. Whether our clients are developers, security analysts, or consultants, we work on their networks, VM configurations, and network hardening. Ultimately, we help harden their systems and environments as we approach 2025.
